A bit about me!
Hi! I'm Tara Bhamre, a 15-year-old student.
Music has rocked my world from the very beginning. Whether I'm dancing to 'Thats what I like' or belting an aria in the shower, music has always been my biggest passion. I started singing at 6, learning Indian classical music, and since then have branched out into opera, musical theatre and pop. What began as a casual hobby evolved into a calling. The best part? Singing has allowed me to connect more deeply with my closest loved ones. Even though I can’t see my grandparents often, I always sing to them first-thing on my visits. Seeing them smile when I perform is a treasured memory for me. My grandma even has my songs on repeat on YouTube while she does her daily chores! Being able to use music as a mode of connection with my grandparents is what sparked the idea for Melody Matters. I wanted to mix my love for music with helping others, nurturing stronger bonds between generations. I began organising regular choir performances in my community’s local senior center, spending an afternoon socialising with residents and sharing a fun musical repertoire with them. The joy on the faces of the elderly at our first performances lit a spark in me. I wanted to expand my vision across more communities, enhancing intergenerational bonds across the UK. Through Melody Matters, I get to match other talented student communities to their
local homes and senior centres, spreading joy one song at a time.
